My experiences as a vegetarian

As of last month, I am a vegetarian of 3 years so I guess you can say I'm PRETTY QUALIFIED to write this post.

Most blogs I read about vegetarian experiences are short term, so I thought "Lets put a long-term post out there!"

I always get questions like "Was it hard becoming vegetarian?" or "Do you miss meat?" The answer to both of those is no. I actually regret eating meat for as long as I did, It has changed my life for the better and I highly suggest taking up this lifestyle.

Ever since becoming vegetarian I've lost so much weight, I never went into this with the thought of losing weight being the first in my mind but it was definitely there. 3 years ago I was 199.9 pounds and my shirts were an XL, now I'm a proud 148 pounds and a size medium :)

Whatever your reasoning for considering vegetarianism is, I say go for it. I took meat out of my diet with the thought of animal cruelty in my mind but if you have a completely different reason thats okay too!

My overall experience as a vegetarian has been so positive. I'm healthy, my PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) has been under control, I don't get as tired so quickly, my skin is clear and I get to brag a lot ;) My least favorite part of being vegetarian though would have to be the meat eaters in my life... (sorry guys) I hear "What about bacon?!" Very often and to be honest, I didn't really like bacon that much when I was an omnivore... Another thing I constantly hear is "Where do you get your protein from?" Here's my question for you, where do the animals get their protein from? Exactly... So if you wanna outsmart a meat eater do some research before you go "public" about it (Although its none of their business!)

I hope this post helped out anyone who was considering vegetarianism or anyone who was just interested in my story:)

Happy eating!

~Bella
